[200 Series Shinkansen]

The 200 Series Shinkansen is a vehicle developed for the opening of the Tohoku/Joetsu Shinkansen in 1982.

After that, the K formation equipped with the 400 series and E3 series coupling coupler appeared, and in 2007, the K47 formation, which was the only renewed car restored to its original paint, began operation. (As of August 2012)
